Making Things Simpler And Easier With Boom Trucks

August 2nd, 2010 Robin Flores No comments

There are a number of tasks that we carry out that are dangerous, difficult and may even cost lives. Auto Detailing isn’t one of them! These jobs are a grind and risky too. Humans are now being replaced by machines in many of these tasks with the deployment of modern technology. Operators operate these machines to carry out the tasks safely and faster. This drastically minimizes or eliminates the risk involved in the task. These machines or equipments are mounted and secured on to the pickup trucks at the design stage of the pickup truck itself. This makes the equipments mobile. One such specialized pickup truck is the boom truck.

The flat bed of the pickup truck is fitted with a crane that can revolve 360 degrees. This replaces the traditional set up when one used to lift the crane on to a truck, carry them to the place of work, unload and set it up to carry out the work. A variety of tasks can be carried out by the boom trucks. The advantage is also that these can move around while at work.

Boom trucks carry out different specialized functions with the help of different mounted equipments. Goods and equipments that have to be lifted and placed in rough and difficult terrain are carried out by the all terrain boom trucks. They also handle the goods safely. The knuckle boom truck is specially meant for lifting and moving rather quite heavy equipments and goods. If you want to increase the range of the crane to reach out to the goods and move them which are beyond the reach of the normal cranes, there is the telescopic boom truck with this facility. People can be lifted from and to difficult places with the bucket boom trucks. It is also ideal to use them in trimming trees.

Boom trucks are owned by companies carrying out specialized services. These different kinds of boom trucks are quite expensive. Companies turn to lenders to finance their purchase of boom trucks. The traditional lenders are not particularly keen to finance them.

Finance companies who lend money for purchase are the ones who are familiar with such purchases. It becomes very attractive to approach the used commercial truck market for cheaper boom trucks.

Mark Anthony Cella and the Ferrari 250 Grand Touring Sport Coupe

Building on the successful history of the V12 GT racing engines that made the GTOs so substantial, brought the 250 Berlinetta sport coupe about. Auto detailing. GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato in Italian, and in English means Grand Touring Homologated. Homologated means Official Agreement. So, the GTO was Officially Agreed to be a Grand Touring car. Anyway, the 250 simply is the measurement in cubic centimeters of each of the cylinders.

Mark Anthony Cella Officially Agrees This Car is all About Racing

The SWB was built from 1953 to 1964 and really put Ferrari in the limelight. It became Ferrari’s most successful car line of that time. It was their first all wheel disc brake vehicle. One model was their first four seater. Its V12 engine weighed about half as much as the competition’s. The higher tuned ones hammered up to 280bhp at 7,000 rpm. They had a four speed manual tranny, all of which exploded the car to more victories then I can list, here’s just a few:

1960 Le Mans 24 hr race, it took 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, while Chevy and Aston Martin were far behind. It won three repeat 5500 km Tour de Frances, while taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 1960 event. That season driver Sterling Moss lapped the entire field at Goodwood to take the second consecutive win. SWB won all over in England, Monza Italy, Spa, Nurbrgring, and Monthlery.

The Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione weighed in at only 2,314 lbs., giving it a very high power to weight ratio. Top speed was approximately 152 mph, and 0-60 was done it 6.2 sec. Great numbers for this era.

Mark Anthony Cella Agrees it’s One of the Greatest Ferraris Ever Built

Car detailing Enthusiasts envied the fact that owners of this car could show up, unpack and race in the same unmodified car, occasionally changing tires. The only thing necessary was to paste on numbers. The competition models were lighter and had 30-40 more horsepower, regardless of which one you were in other manufacturers didn’t stand a chance.

Out of the ten Greatest Ferraris of all time, Motor Trend ranked this one 5th. Sports Car International placed it at 7 Top Sports Cars of the 60′s. Mark Cella gave it first place of his 1960′s Muscle Car Picks, second is the 67 Corvette Sting Ray and third being the cherished 1968 Chevy Camaro.

Buying Online For Discounted Automotive Purchases

July 30th, 2010 George Archer No comments

When it comes to automotive ideas and what you need, going to an auto auction can be a fun and exciting experience with all the vehicles there and the auctioneer trying to get the highest price on each vehicle. It can also be a big hassle. Online auctions are an alternative and here is what you need to know about online vehicle auctions.

A simple internet search will help you in finding an auction in your area. You can also search by city and there should pop up a few sites at the minimum. This will of course depend on the size of city you live in. But typically this is the best way to find what you need.

Getting on the site is great and there you will find many automotive choices for you. You then just need to narrow down what you either want or need. Then you can look up the vehicle and the pertinent information about the cars, truck or other vehicles you are looking for. You can also check out government sites as well. Sometimes they have vehicles available at a very low investment to you.

Once you have found the vehicle that you are looking for you can register for the auction. This is usually a one page for asking for your information.

However you can use other methods of payment for an auction. Many people avoid the auctions because they think you have to pay cash. In reality you have the ability to finance an auction purchase. You just cannot expect the auction house to do it and must get private financing and have it ready before you win a bid. This is because you will need to pay for the bid purchase within twenty four hours of the win.

Simply do this in advance and get the money you need. You can also use a credit card or debit card. When you win a bid you will have to pay for the vehicle. So if you do not have the money then do not bid. It is as simple as that.

If you do win you will have to immediately place ten percent payment for the bid that has been won. Then you have the balance due in twenty four hours. You will also pay a typical ten percent fee for the auction and sales and registration.

You must be at least eighteen to participate in an online auction for your automotive needs. If a person tries to register with an incorrect age you can get into a lot of trouble. Online auction options help you get what you need and avoid heavy pressure sales or long auction lines. Check them out today to see what they can provide for you.

Turbo Buick Engine Part Availability

July 28th, 2010 Sean Reed No comments

Most automotive machine shops encounter difficulties when finding replacement engine parts for an engine. Some of the best engines in vehicles have not been manufactured in many years. This has created a challenge for the modern engine rebuilder which must be overcome. Quite a few engine builders are facing this situation now with turbo Buick V6 engines.

The 3.8L turbo Buick engine is typically known for being the power-plant under the hoods of Buick Grand Nationals. General Motors quit producing this car in the late 80′s and they have a very dwindling supply of replacement parts for this engine. Therefore, most automotive engine builders have turned to the aftermarket industry to fulfill their parts needs.

A couple of domestic manufacturers have discontinued production of engine parts, which include connecting rods, for the Buick turbo 3.8L engine. Overseas producers have seized this opportunity to capitalize from the parts shortage in the USA. However, some in the United States believe this is applying even more stress on the remaining domestic producers to become more efficient or become irrelevant.

New turbo Buick engine blocks are also in short supply. Very few of these blocks still exist and are held by few people. Therefore, a market has emerged for used engine blocks that are ready to be machined and built. But for a boosted engine, the maximum cylinder bore oversize should not exceed .040″. Cylinder blocks bored beyond this risk running with thin cylinder walls that are not well suited for a turbo engine.

Even with the right parts, few machine shops have the experience building turbo Buick engines. Unlike other types of engines, there are performance modifications that may be performed which will improve horsepower and dependability. While utilizing the services of a specialty engine builder can be more expensive initially, they normally have the knowledge to produce a turbo Buick V6 engine that is built to last.

For the time being, there are aftermarket engine components available for the turbo Buick engine. These parts have been tested and have worked properly under extreme racing conditions. In fact, these engines can still give any modern day engine a good run for its money.

Sean works at Weber Power Products. This company specializes in turbo Buick engine rebuilding and also sells other performance engine parts for Buick V6 engines.
